I asked the
clouds,
The birds
that flew,
The wind that
blew,
One faltered,
The other wavered,
Another hesitated,
Then said, “Oh!
Just out and about!”
A thoughtless
question,
Trivial conversation,
Empty words,
Made me
ponder,
Look back in
wonder,
Where have I
come,
How did I get
here?
The place
where I was born,
Steeped so deep
in my marrow,
Not just body,
But the soul,
Spirit, heart,
mind and ego,
Mystical
realm, historical culture,
Is that the place where I am from?
These eyes, however, had seen too much,
The limbs had
travelled far and wide,
The smells,
the taste of many lands,
Sounds of
the gurgling fjords,
Sights of majestic buildings forged,
The mountain
air, the snowy peaks,
Are these not
the domains where I belong?
